followfood – Germany Climate neutral canned tuna
The followfood GmbH with its brand followfish has been offering hand-caught real bonito tuna from the Maldives in Germany since 2007 as the first supplier ever. New about it, the tuna product is the first one on the market, that is climate neutral produced, regarding the whole value chain. For production, processing and transport all CO2 emissions are compensated. But that‘s not all: from 2021, followfood will be completely climate-neutral.
This constant further development is also no- ticeable in the variety of products. In addition to the 3 existing varieties of tuna in its own juice,
in organic olive oil and organic sunflower oil, a little spiciness now follows. The new variety of tuna with organic chilli is also produced with hand-caught tuna. For more than 900 years, the Maldives have been fishing with this traditional pole-and-line method, which virtually eliminates bycatch. The fishery was certified in 2018 by the American organization „Fair Trade“. A sustainable tuna from head to fin.

Die followfood GmbH mit ihrer Marke followfish bietet seit 2007 als erster Anbieter überhaupt handgefan- genen Echten Bonito Thunfisch von den Malediven
in Deutschland an. Neu ist, dass dieser ab sofort als erstes Thunfisch-Produkt am Markt über die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette hinweg klimaneutral hergestellt wird. Für Produktion, Verarbeitung und Transport werden alle CO2-Emissionen kompensiert. Damit nicht genug: Ab 2021 wird sich das Unternehmen followfood komplett klimaneutral stellen.
Diese ständige Weiterentwicklung ist auch bei der Produkt-Vielfalt spürbar. Neben den 3 bestehenden Sorten Thunfisch in eigenem Saft, in Bio-Olivenöl und Bio-Sonnenblumenöl folgt nun etwas Schärfe. Die neue Sorte Thunfisch mit Bio-Chili wird ebenfalls mit handgeangeltem Thunfisch hergestellt. Seit über 900 Jahren wird auf den Malediven schon mit dieser traditionellen Pole-and-Line-Methode gefischt, die Beifang so gut wie ausschließt. Die Fischerei wurde 2018 von der amerikanischen Organisation „Fair Trade“ zertifiziert. Ein nachhaltiger Thunfisch von Kopf bis Flosse.
