Stocked wholesaling of collection goods is also back in demand, thus providers like Otto Golze, Reinke- meier-Rietberg and Theko were quite satisfied with the fair. Osman Ahmed, who recently founded Rug Studios, sees a market gap in wholesaling and services for handmade Indian and Pakistani carpets.
Danish importer Rezas offers complete, end-to-end service (including warehousing) for both traditional and modern handmade carpets. As company owner Reza Rejaye explained, “when we talk about our b2b shop, our webservice, dropshipping, help with mar- keting etc., the potential customer gets even more interested in us.” The Danish importer has been in- vesting broadly and steadily in service and market- ing, and in fact had a presence in Hannover in both Hall 2, showing its traditional range, and Hall 3 for ›

Carpets are a product bound up with emotion, but a 2x3 stack looks about as beguiling as a Tetra Pack of milk. The Naziri stand was one of those showing a way to do things differently in a carpet experience entitled “The 4 Seasons of Life” featur- ing a dancing dervish, greenery, music, and moving wall pro- jections. Hamburg-based designer Lila Valadan demonstrates to the industry how special carpets can be presented in a so- phisticated and highly moving fashion. Instead of sales being the conceptual starting point and main consideration, Valadan designed the exhibition so as to communicate her own atti- tude and philosophy. And her success in doing so is evident, as The 4 Seasons of Life led to many new contacts being made and the uncovering of collaborative possibilities.
There is a vibrant, communicative party tradition at the Paulig stand, where this year there was a special occasion to cele- brate: the company’s 75th anniversary. “The celebration pro- vided a great backdrop for solidifying our ties with custom- ers,” said Theresa Paulig, Assistant Manager, Organisation and Digitalisation). Paulig had arranged additional seating niches along the outer wall to make it inviting for visitors to stay on longer.
Handweaver Tisca had created “lifestyle bunks” using carpets, some recalling Bauhaus design, for example. And importer Ali Ipektchi showed how traditional Persian rugs can be utilised in creating modern living situations.
