 Domotex: Your Attendance is Crucial
Domotex 2023 is coming! The fair is back at long last, opening its doors in the second week of January. This time around however the organisers are contending with rumours, and have noticeably fewer exhibitors booked.
And yet 2023 will be no exception in that Domotex remains the carpet industry’s leading trade show. Looking at the machine-woven carpet exhibitors alone, it is apparent how im- portant the expo is, with all of the market leaders – Oriental Weavers, Balta, Merinos, Ragolle and Mc Three – gathering at a shared group stand at Domotex. A broad array of handmade rugs will likewise be on display for visitors.
The fair features an extensive programme of events as well as the “Green Collection”: a sepa- rate area specially created by the organisers to highlight the industry’s sharp focus on issues of sustainability. Then in Hall 2 there are Mood Spaces, illustrating home living trends for 2023. Carpet Home magazine too is involved in the programme of events, as presenter of the 2023 Carpet Star awards at Domotex to industry traders of especial distinction. The awards ceremony will be held on 12 January at 17:00 in Hall 2.
There are so many reasons that make visiting Domotex worthwhile in 2023.
And yet it remains to be seen how the international carpet trade will respond to the fair overall. Will major purchasers – from home furnishing stores and e-commerce sites – be there? Will the decision-makers at owner-operated carpet stores be going to Hannover in January? Will the industry like what all the trade fair has done and show interest in exhibi- tors’ presented offerings?
These things are crucial if Domotex 2023 is to be a successful trade fair; they will have to occur if the exhibitors who opted against returning with a stand of their own are to be con- vinced otherwise. Thus your attendance will in fact play a role in deciding the future of Domotex.
Carpet Home will be on site in Hannover for all four days, and we are looking forward to it! Because we get to see so many new items all in one place, across all product groups – but most of all because we want to enjoy meeting up in person again with our carpet industry colleagues.
We hope you will very much enjoy reading this issue.
Yours,
Tim Steinert
